It was a very Catholic movie, and very biblically inaccurate (which is what I had expected), but it had its moments and it was thought-provoking. I guess the biggest thing I got out of it was a sense of the realness of Hell. It is a very real and very unpleasant place that we as Presbyterians tend to think about in a more abstract form. Premils are more prone to fearing Satan rather than God and as such have probably got a more vivid (and more accurate) picture of what Hell is really like. Not that our minds should dwell on Hell, but I think we can give it a little more serious thought than we do. On a related note, a question popped into my head during Worship this morning. What was it like in Hell when Jesus spent time there? Did the other residents react differently to His presence? |
