During my stay there this weekend I ate breakfast on a strange stone altar, gazed east at the behest of a giant stone chaplain, declined an invitation to a gathering of Zombies, passed by witches, a wolf-man, and a wide and wrinkly Wonder Woman, and ate lunch with the ghost of a gentleman who had killed himself over a hundred years ago (he actually resides within his portrait, often in the company of his dead wife, who was not with him this Saturday). I love St. Augustine, but it's good to be back in the company of the living. Labels: halloween, roadtrip, scary 10.20.2006 | "You thought I went to the theater by myself because I had no friends?? HAHA. I'm here alone because it's easier that way! I'm amazed it got to me. We've got sunshine and cool breezes and the trees are greener than ever. I've got Kenny Chesney playing and my parents and half of my siblings left a couple hours ago after giving me a great lunch for my birthday. There were Veronica Mars, Lost, and Battlestar Galactica premiers, spent some great time with my friends, and now I get a three day week end to top it all off. Thank You, Lord! WOXY is one of my primary sources of music discovery, so I'm glad to see that it will soon be back. UPDATE: For those of you who can't quite wrap your heads around the concept of lala + WOXY, it's sort of like how it would be if President Bush and Pastor Schneider decided to team up and take over the world.
