1.07.2007 | And the radio plays "How to ruin a lifeeeee"posted by Jon19:49 | SAY SOMETHING | It's too easy these days. America quickly condemned three lacrosse players from Duke University for the rape of a "dancer" at a party early last year. She picked the three from a line-up and bingo, they're guilty. At least that's how the media portrayed them. Forget the fact that at the prosecutor's request, she was only allowed to pick from a line-up of Duke lacrosse players. Forget the fact that there were cellphone calls placed by the accused at the time of the alleged rape. All that matters is that the "dancer" was African-American and the accusers were moderately wealthy, white, American males. Now even though copious amounts of forensic evidence were found on the "dancer"'s undergarments, they succeed in nothing but proving that none of the accused (nor any of the lacrosse teammates at all) had ever done anything to the "dancer". Two of those boys are still in court for kidnapping and sexual-offense charges just because some whore (and I'm not being flippant) said they should. Now it goes without saying that these guys are probably not angels, but when Americans are so concerned about PCness that they'd rather ruin the lives of innocent people than offend anybody, that's just messed up.
